BIANCHI Ezio
The major area of research are the disorders of the nervous system of domestic animals, clinical neurology being the the main object of interest. Most investigated topics are: neuroelectrodiagnostic tests, neuromuscular disorders and neurosensorial deafness.

CORSINI Andrea

The research activity is mainly addressed to the study of endocrine diseases in dogs and cats. The main topic of interest are thyroid diseases, focusing on the diagnosis of canine hypothyroidism.

Andrea is also involved in a wide range of research projects investigating new therapeutic approaches to chronic enteropathy, the role of inflammatory biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of common inflammatory disease in dogs and cats, and the diagnosis of immune-mediated hemolytic anemia in dogs and cats.

CROSARA Serena 
The research activity is mainly addressed to the study of cardiac disease in domestic animals. Recently, studies are focused on cardiac remodelling in athlete dogs to evaluate the effect of endurance exercise training on the cardiovascular system. Other areas of interest are feline cardiomyopathies and cardiorenal syndrome.

DONDI Maurizio
The main research areas are Veterinary Clinical Neurophysiology (Electroencephalography, Evoked Potentials, Electromyography, Nerve Conduction Studies) and  Veterinary Audiology.

GENCHI Marco
Research topics of interest include epidemiology, pathogenesis, host-parasite relationships and parasitology diagnosis of Dirofilariosis (Dirofilaria immitis and D. repens) and food-borne diseases such Toxoplasma gondii and Echinococcus granulosus. The second major area of research concerns treatment and prevention of vector-borne diseases through clinical and field trial of efficacy of antiparasitic drugs. 

GNUDI Giacomo
Research topics deal with diagnostic imaging of clinical disease of small and large animals and exotics. Early CT (computed tomography) diagnosis of hip and elbow dysplasia in Labrador Retriever and German Sheperd dogs, MRI of small animal and equine foot represent the main research topics.

LEONARDI Fabio

KRAMER Laura Helen 
Particular research interest is canine heartworm disease and the role of Wolbachia as a target for alternative adulticide therapy. The second major area of research concerns toxoplasmosis (Toxoplasma gondii), a very important food-borne disease with worldwide distribution, which, due to its multiple transmission routes and the severity of the induced lesions, plays a major role in public health. Prof. Kramer is conducting research on animal-to-human transmission routes, in particular from pigs to humans, and epidemiological studies to evaluate the possible infection of farmed and wild animals in the perspective of One medicine one health having Toxoplasma the cat as an intermediate host and all warm-blooded animals, including humans as possible intermediate hosts.

MARTELLI Paolo
Porcine health management is the main area of research and predominantly Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome, Porcine Circovirus Diseases and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae infections are investigated. In particular, the immune response upon infections and vaccinations is the focus of the research activity. Within vaccination new vaccines and innovative route of administration (intradermal and intranasal) are investigated.

QUINTAVALLA Fausto

The research field has always focused mainly on the study of clinical pharmacology, also with an interest in phytotherapy in the veterinary field. Furthermore, for some years his research has focused on the study of oxidative stress in various animal species, paying particular attention to some pathological situations that afflict companion and livestock animals.

QUINTAVALLA Cecilia 
The research activity is mainly focused on the study of congenital and acquired heart diseases in dogs and cats, and related complications. Particular interest is devoted to the study of aortic stenosis in the Boxer dog breed, predisposed to this disease. A permanent program of Boxer breed screening on national basis is underway. Other areas of interest are the  cardiac-renal syndrome, and the therapy of canine Dirofilariosis.

SIMONAZZI Barbara 
The research of Dr. Barbara Simonazzi has developed following ophthalmology, ophthalmic and general surgery, and anesthesiology. In particular, scientific activity was primarily directed to the diagnosis and the surgical treatment of hereditary and non ereditary ocular pathologies in the dog. She also studied tears production in the horse. She also devoted his research and teaching activity to diagnostic and surgical techniques applied to ophthalmology of the domestic animals. Recent subject of study is the conjunctival microbial flora of the dog for the evaluation of bacterial resistances by the execution of conjunctival swabs in dogs with ocular and non-ocular pathologies.

VISMARRA Alice

The main research topics of Dr Vismarra foresee zoonotic parasites as Toxoplasma gondii and filarial nematodes (Dirofilaria immitis and D. repens).  In particular she focuses her attention on the in vitro study of T. gondii, the screening of new molecules and drugs both on tachyzoites and bradyzoites and its epidemiology. Recently she also focused her research on mosquitos captured in Emilia-Romagna region looking for filarial parasites harboured by these vectors in a collaboration with the Istituto Zooprofilattico of Lombardia and Emilia Romagna region.
